What is FGES?
Built for graduates who want to build
FGES is Alberta's pathway for recent international graduates to launch innovative, scalable businesses. Unlike traditional PNPs, you don't need years of business ownership or massive capital, but you do need:
Completion of a foreign post-secondary degree from the past 10 years;
A viable business concept with growth potential;
Endorsement from an Alberta approved designated agency;
The ability to invest $100K+ into your business.
Eligibility Checklist

Completion of a degree from a post-secondary institution outside of Canada with an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA);
This degree must:
have been completed within the last 10 years at the time of EOI submission, and;
must be equivalent to a Canadian degree.
The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) website lists the designated organizations for ECAs.

Equivalent experience may include work with a business incubator or business accelerator

No, your graduation must be within the past decade. Consider SUV, BC, or Nova Scotia entrepreneur streams instead.

Not for the initial application, but you must be prepared to relocate and operate your business full-time in Alberta once approved.
